Citrus Harvest

Welcome to the Griffith Tours Website. Come and enjoy a small group tour of the Griffith / Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area experiencing the many agricultural industries and attractions the area has to offer.

Griffith Tours accommodate groups of 2 to 12 people with larger groups accommodated by prior arrangement.

Apart from the many wineries and vineyards which produce 75% of NSW wines, the area has extensive plantings of oranges, prunes, rice, wheat and recently cotton, walnuts and almonds. Also, this area produces other fresh produce including tomatoes, potatoes; lettuce, melons, onions garlic and carrots just to name a few.

Tours will be tailored to suit seasonal conditions and may include farm visits and associated processing plants, such as a cotton farm and cotton gin, and local specialised food products will be show cased which may include olive oil, salami and relishes. Winery visits can include cellar tour, tasting and a relaxed lunch.

Special itineraries can be designed with prior notice.

Since the introduction of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation scheme in 1912, the rich soils of the region have been put to good use.

Griffith was described by John Oxley in 1817 as "A barren, desolate wasteland", but the Griffith of today is an outstanding example of the miracle of Irrigation. Come and see for yourself.
